We’re looking for artist to help us
The Vernon Association of Skateboard Enthusiasts (VASE) is launching a new community art initiative—and we want local artists to be a part of it.
We’re collecting 20–30 blank skateboard decks and handing them out to artists in the Okanagan. In return, the art community will donate their creativity and time to transform each deck into a unique, gallery-worthy piece.
These completed boards will be auctioned off at a VASE fundraising event in early 2026.
What the Art Board Fundraiser Is All About
This project connects skateboarding culture with Vernon’s vibrant art scene. Here’s the big picture:
- Artists receive a free blank board to create a one-of-a-kind art piece.
- VASE will auction the completed decks at a community event (details to come).
- All proceeds support youth, indoor skatepark upgrades, and community events.
How the Funds Will Help the Community
The proceeds of the fundraiser are going towards a new indoor skatepark in Vernon.

How to Get Involved
1. Receive a Board
Contact us to arrange pickup of a blank deck. Supplies are limited (20–30 boards total).
2. Create Your Artwork
Use any medium: paint, markers, woodburning, collage, or something totally unexpected.
3. Return the Completed Deck
Finished pieces must be submitted by Feb 14, 2026.
4. Join Us at the Auction Event
We’ll share details as soon as they’re confirmed—expect a fun community night celebrating art, skating, and creativity.
