Who is VASE?
Vernon Association for Skateboard Enthusiasts (VASE) is a volunteer-led, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting, promoting, and growing the skateboarding community in Vernon, BC. We believe that skateboarding is more than just a sport — it’s a creative outlet, a way to connect with others, and a tool for building confidence and community.
What is the VASE Mission?
Our mission is to create safe, inclusive, and accessible spaces where skaters of all ages and skill levels can ride, learn, and thrive. Through advocacy, events, and collaboration with local partners, we work to strengthen Vernon’s skate culture and ensure it continues to grow for future generations.
What does VASE do?
VASE organizes community events, fundraisers, and skate sessions that bring people together — from first-time riders to lifelong skaters. We advocate for improved skate facilities, support youth involvement, and foster positive relationships between skaters, local businesses, and city officials.
We also believe in mentorship and education. By connecting experienced skaters with beginners, we help build confidence, respect, and a stronger, more connected scene.
